Educational and leisure-based cycling activities and services in Sunderland & the North East.
Established in March 2009, Sunderland Young People's Bike Project (SYPBP) is a community-based cycle project based in Sunderland, Tyne & Wear.
We are a Community Interest Company (CIC), our aim is to inspire individuals and help as many people as possible to take up and enjoy cycling. This includes teaching people to ride and engaging as many people as we can in a number of cycling related activities.
We provide balance bike and learn to ride classes for any age and ability, adult refreshers, cycle skill games and confidence building classes, bikeability and road safety taster sessions, cycle led rides and residential experiences such as the C2C. We also have a cycle service and repair shop, where we can offer maintenance workshops.
We work in partnership with many Local Authorities, funders and organisations to provide bespoke cycling events and programmes to promote and encourage as many people as possible to become active through cycling.
We are a committed organisation, with fully qualified instructors, providing a safe environment for all who wish to take part.
